The Word:
“There was a lot of
discussion about [Jesus] among the crowds.
Some said, ‘He’s a wonderful man.’ While others said, ‘He’s nothing but
a fraud, deceiving the people.’ But no
one had the courage to speak favorably about him in public, for they were
afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.” John 7:12-13
Prayer:
Some things never
change. Jesus, the same debate is still
being held today. Some say you were just
a good moral teacher. Some say you were
a fraud or fairy tale. And others may believe,
but they lack the courage to stand up for you in school or work or at
home. Jesus, I believe you are who you
said you are in your word – the son of God, the savior of the world, my
salvation. Help me to live for you
unashamedly. Help me to speak truth to
others without fear. Help me to show
your influence on my life so much that no one can deny your power in it.
Act of Devotion:
Read the book “More than a
Carpenter” by Josh McDowell to help put facts behind your faith.
