The Word:
“The
wind blows where it wants to,
and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is
going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:8
Prayer:
Jesus, I want to go
where your spirit goes, to make room for you in my plans. For you show up when we don’t expect you. I don’t understand. You are always with us, yet there are times
when you seem to “meet with us.” I
believe you are always there, but there seems to be special revelations, gifts,
or a move of your spirit. Is it with you
or hype? Or is it being in a place to
let you be God and do what you will? Yet
when there is not an “experience” and a move of God doesn’t happen, the guilt
that people feel almost makes it feel like it’s dependent on us if you
act. That seems to be man cultured
theology. It doesn’t seem right. Yet you call us to repent and surrender, and
to let your spirit work in and through us.
God, free us from guilt and self.
Blow your spirit in my life.
Act of Devotion:
Have you relied on
feelings as the gauge for God’s presence in your life? Even when it doesn’t feel like it, He is
there. Commit to work through those dry
times when it doesn’t feel like He’s there.
He is.
