Mountain top experiences

The Word:
Read Luke 9:28-36 Mount of Transfiguration

Prayer:
Jesus, you give people mountain peak experiences. There is Elijah against the prophets of Baal, Moses and the Ten Commandments, Abraham willing to sacrifice Isaac – Mount Carmel, Mount Moria, Mount of Olives. Jesus, you went to the mountain to pray. You died on Mount Calvary. And on the Mount of Transfiguration, they saw You in Your glory. We need mountain top experiences when we see You as God. I know we can’t live there, but how have we lived without them? Retreats, conventions, quiet times, sabbaticals, miracles, times of extra love, worship, praise and prayer. Jesus, bring us to the mountain of God. Let’s go climbing! Bring me to new heights that I will never forget, even when I’m down in the valley.
