Him, to them gave He power to become the children of God.” John 1:12
Prayer:
God, help me to see
that the only people in hell will be those who can not receive. Nobody wants to be a charity case. Nobody wants to admit they can’t make it on
their own. Yet eternal life is not based
on a decision to follow you or on all our volunteering to charities, or on
being good enough. To be truly Christian
is to admit I am a charity case. Once I
come to the end of myself, my resources, my efforts, and my self-righteousness,
then I can be in a position to receive the greatest gift ever given – your
Son. Jesus, I receive you into my heart
and my life. Humble me in your sight, oh
Lord. Show me my need to receive from You. The highest place on earth is still at your
feet.
