The Word:
“Trust in the Lord with
all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will
make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5
Prayer:
To hear your voice,
not the echo of my own nature – That is my prayer, Lord. I need to be in a place where I lean not on
my own understanding, temperament or perception. I want to have my ears open to hear your
call, your will and your voice. I want
to acknowledge you in all I do. I want
to be in the zone, to be tuned in, with everything clear, uninterrupted, and
free of static or feedback. I desire to
trust you with all my heart as You lead me. Control me and direct my future. People keep looking inside, trying to peel
away the layers to find themselves. They
keep trying to get in touch with their souls to find some answers and direction
from their inner self. God, help us see
the only way to have a straight path is to trust in you and your word, not in
ourselves.
Act of Devotion:
Think of an area of your
life where you’ve questioned God’s purpose in a situation. How can you trust Him more fully with the
outcome?
