The Word:
“And now I will send the
Holy Spirit, just like My Father promised.
But stay in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with
peace from heaven.” Luke 24:49
Prayer:
Lord, how do I get to
that point, like Peter, of not relying on my own strength? Even more importantly, how do I live in that
state of being? I understand that I
haven’t got the power to live out what you’ve called me to be. I long to be
God-sufficient. I long to call other people from self-sufficiency. Yet, I see sin-tainted patterns in their
lives and in mine. Years of habits are
hard to break. May I admit the emptiness
of life without you.
I need to be filled with your spirit to have power in my life. May I walk in your spirit, not in the ways of
this world.
Act of Devotion:
List bad habits that you
may have and commit them to prayer.
