The Word:
“For me to live is Christ
and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
Prayer:
Lord, I am not at that
point. My self-centeredness
prevails. I want to be there. I want to be able to say, “For me to live is Christ.” Yet so
many times for me to live is frustration, fear, jealousy, business, anxiety,
tension, pride, judgment, criticism, expectations, lack of peace, lack of rest, striving, and seeking an identity. Father, I can’t do it on my own. I need a fresh touch from you, a revelation
of your character and your heart. I need
a new revelation of your gospel. Tell me
again of your love so I can fall hopelessly in love with you. I long to surrender
entirely to you. Be my life.
Act of Devotion:
Bring to God some of the
things you have been living for, instead of living for Christ. What actions will you take in releasing those
things and turning to Him?
